sianxx... czech rep came back from 2-nil down to win holland 3-2 ytd. it was one of the best euro 2004 match played to date as both teams had style and flair to take down each other in attacking mode, much of a contrast to the nil all draw between latvia and germany earlier on. holland should have at least gotten a point, but ended up with none eventually.
who to blame for dutch defeat (personal opinion)
#1: Referee Gonzalez
should i say he was incompetent or should i say he was bias against the dutch? but his decisions is one of the main factors causing holland to lose. he failed to give a penalty to the dutch when RVN was obviously fouled by his marker in the box. he failed to give 2 clear cut fouls on both RVN n andy van der meyde when they were on a break. most importantly, he issued the 2nd yellow card to john heitinga when pavel nedved fell by the slightest of touches. in fact i dun think it should be a foul in the first place as nedved seemed to trip himself. with 10 men against, its inevitable that defeat soon follow.
#2: Dick Advocaat
he substituted defender bosvelt for robben in the 60 smth minutes when holland was still leading 2-1. robben had a superb game, causing trouble down the left, assisting in both the dutch goals. when did he switch to defensive mode when it was still early in the game?
#3: Peter Cech, Czech keeper
he was on his best performance for most of the game, stopping an excellent volley from heitinga in the first half, a RVN header and a shot by van der meyde when the Czechs broke even. =X chelsea is lucky to sign such a good stopper.
anw it was goals galore in the match ytd, plenty of excitement in the fast paced attacking game. though im still a lil disappointed with the result, i sure enjoy watching the game. for those who missed out on the match, thats a real pity. =b
