many many things to update since 20th apr. which happens to be the day the nicoll highway tragedy happened. anw 21st apr was the actual concert in esplanade. it was quite successful, at least for myself. very proud to be performing at the renowned esplanade for the first time. quite nervous initially for donghai, budden eventually got into the atmosphere n mood when i lead with dagu. dun think i was too fast, just that some crecendo was not done as perfectly as i thot it should be. hongloumeng was, as usual, a very soothing piece which made me taozuiqizhong, enjoying the music rather that playing it myself. sheng was very nice. gongzhu started off shakily, budden it eventually settled down quite well n its not too bad. the highlight of the day was tianshan. another piece for percussion to 'haolian'. was pretty satisfied with myself, just that the triplets not totally perfect. then came the combined songs before the 2 encore piece, ganwen n haohange, which i only practice once during the rehearsal. pretty shiok trying to come up with my own beats. haha. finally when the crowd was leaving, dunno who suddenly came up with the idea to play longteng, so we played lor. it was very messy. but who cares. everyone had fun. =] esplanade really brings back fond memories.
